SOMERSET EXPORTER OF THE YEAR 2009!

SOMERSET BUSINESS AWARDS 2009

HILTON HERBS, leading manufacturer of natural healthcare products for animals, has been announced Somerset Exporter of the Year 2009, at a recent awards ceremony at Bridgwater’s Junction 24 Rural Business Centre.  Hilton Herbs also took third place in the main Somerset Business of the Year 2009 category for Businesses with 5-50 Employees.

Hilary Self, co-Director and Medical Herbalist for Hilton Herbs, received the Exporter of Year trophy from Rory Uniake, of UK Trade & Investment, accompanied by husband Tony. Making an emotional acceptance speech Hilary said:

“As far as I am concerned this award is not just for the business, it’s for the whole team at Hilton Herbs, and all our customers across the globe who continue to have faith in our company and our products. It’s especially gratifying to be judged, and honoured, in this way by our business peers”.

Hilton Herbs fought off strong competition from 130 Somerset companies to reach the short-list, and their award on the night was preceded by the screening of a short but very atmospheric video film, made at their North Perrott facility by media students from Bridgwater College.

Hilary & Tony, along with a group of colleagues, enjoyed a black-tie buffet dinner with fabulous food entirely sourced in Somerset, together with entertainment provided by students from Somerset College of Arts & Technology.

A jubilant Martin Brooks, Production & Export Manager for Hilton Herbs, whose initial idea it was to enter the Business Awards competition, said: “We’ll be back next year for the E-business award!”
